Thinking of starting up your own school or learning community?
Come and discuss approaches and challenges with experts in the field who have all created and run learning spaces for young people of varying ages and in various ways.
You will get to meet:
– Kate Coleman from East Kent Sudbury, a part-time self-directed learning community for home educated children and young people.
– Rowan Salim from Free We Grow, a part-time self-directed learning community for home educated children and young people.
– Lucy Stephens from The New School, a full-time registered school with a democratic approach.
– Fran Wilby, co-founder of Lumiar, a full-time registered school which follows the Lumiar Education Model which originated in Brazil.
You will get a chance to be in discussion with our selection of expert hosts. The event will run in a “World Cafe” style, where you will get 15 minutes with each host to discuss topics of interest and ask questions. You are invited to take lots of notes and brainstorm exciting ideas! After 15 minutes with each host, you can feedback what you’ve learned and then there will be a chance for further networking before the end of the session.
