2022 was an exciting year for Progressive Education founder, Jo Symes. She was lucky enough to be accepted onto the School for Social Entrepreneurs start-up programme. This year-long training and mentor programme gave her the support to establish Progressive Education as a social enterprise. The photo below shows Jo at her graduation ceremony a few weeks ago!
Just this week Progressive Education was awarded the ‘Certified Social Enterprise’ badge by Social Enterprise UK.
Website Improvements:
Other successes over the past year include improvements to the website. Thanks to the team at Thinking Fox, ProgressiveEducation.org has the following new features:
- Add Your Own Directory Listings!
The site now has the functionality for you to add your own listings to the directory, including jobs, events and progressive schools/learning communities.
- Progressive Education Goes International!
The directory was initially a UK-wide initiative, but it can now accept worldwide jobs, events and schools/learning communities.
- Make a Donation!
In order to help make the work of Progressive Education sustainable, gratefully received donations can now be made on our website.
- Subscribe!
You can now subscribe to the monthly Progressive Education Bulletin at https://progressiveeducation.substack.com/.
The Year Ahead:
Looking to the future, Jo hopes to introduce some courses. And watch this space for further website developments as the directory becomes more sophisticated over time.
