Event Title:
Eco Ed for Home Educators
Eco Ed for Home Educators
Webinar
Monday 18th November 2024, 18:30 - 19:30.
Join Paul (Education Lead) and Nirvana (Regional Coordinator and facilitator of activities for home educator groups) for an introduction to the Ministry of Eco Education and how home educating families, groups and alternative settings can use our resources to teach about sustainability.
We have created a framework for teaching aspects of the National Curriculum within 7 key themes (Energy, Transport, Food, Water, Nature, Waste and Society), with schemes of work based on big questions like 'Is the future electric?' and 'Does anything ever really go away?'. They are based on NC requirements for the early years up to Key Stage 3, but are adaptable for any age group. We've incorporated resources from a range of organisations, such as the RSPB and World Wildlife Fund, and our schemes of work can be used as one-off lessons or several week-long projects. We will share some examples of how our resources can be used in alternative education settings, and open up the floor for questions and discussion from attendees. We will also share access to all resources on the call.
Suitable for home educating families, co-ops and groups, as well as alternative education settings.
