We are delighted to invite you to the International Democratic Education Conference taking place from August 1 to August 7, 2025, at De Kluis in Sint-Joris-Weert, Belgium.
IDEC@EUDEC 2025 brings together the international democratic education community for a week of exchange, connection, and inspiration. This unique conference combines pre-planned program with the dynamic energy of open spaces.
Our goal is to create a rich and dynamic environment—a space for sharing experiences, learning from one another, and strengthening the global democratic education community.

IDEC and EUDEC
This conference will bring together the annual EUDEC (European Democratic Education Community) and IDEC (International Democratic Education Conference), which will be held in Belgium for the first time.
Venue
The venue is a youth center located in a beautiful, large forest near the historic university town of Leuven. The venue offers dormitory accommodations, as well as ample space for camping. We also provide the option to rent a glamping tent.
Whether you're from an established democratic school / self-directed community, starting a new project, or actively involved in the democratic education movement, this is your space to connect, contribute, and grow.
